Vintage Art Nouveau Revival Figural Lady Floral Openwork Brooch
An unusual vintage figural brooch depicting an elegant woman in a flowing dress surrounded by sinuous branches, leaves and floral forms. The richly modelled openwork design has a romantic Art Nouveau Revival character, with an irregular organic frame and considerable dimensional detail throughout.
The piece appears to have originally had a predominantly gold tone finish, with extensive natural wear revealing the silver-toned base metal beneath. Rather than detracting completely, this has created a distinctive antiqued two-tone appearance, although the plating loss is significant and is clearly shown in the photographs.
