Elegant vintage ladies wristwatch by Limit International featuring a manual wind 17 jewel mechanical movement with Incabloc shock protection. The textured gold tone bracelet and petite tonneau-style case give it a distinctly late 1960s to 1970s aesthetic with a refined dress-watch feel.
Limit was a long-running British watch brand established in the early 20th century, known for producing affordable Swiss and later Hong Kong-made watches. “17 Jewels” refers to the synthetic ruby bearings inside the movement, designed to reduce friction and wear, while “Incabloc” was a desirable shock-protection system commonly seen in mid-century mechanical watches.
Materials: Gold tone metal, stainless steel back
Size/length/weight: Approx. 17cm bracelet length, 34g
Clasp/fastening: Fold over snap clas
Distinctive features: Textured geometric bracelet links, champagne dial, mechanical hand-wind movement, Incabloc shock protection
Notable colour/style notes: Rich gold tone finish with classic vintage dress-watch stylingMaker marks: Dial signed “Limit International”, movement marked “17 Jewels Incabloc”
Condition notes: Untested and sold as found. Light age-related wear and surface marks consistent with vintage use
Dating Notes
This style is very typical of the late 1960s to mid-1970s period. The heavily textured integrated bracelet, compact oval/tonneau case shape and Incabloc-labelled mechanical movement strongly point toward that era. Many Limit mechanical watches of this type used Swiss or Hong Kong assembled movements during the transition period before quartz became dominant in the late 1970s.
All items come packaged safely with their own drawstring jewellery bag and can be gift wrapped and labelled upon request - just let us know if your item is a gift and if you would like us to add a tag!
