Large vintage Miracle penannular-style cloak brooch with intricate Celtic Revival openwork and richly antiqued gold-tone metal. The design is set with glass cabochons imitating carnelian and banded agate, including a large warm orange-red central stone surrounded by darker brown and cream-toned accents.
The substantial 8cm form incorporates an elongated decorative pin across the circular openwork body, giving the piece the appearance of a traditional Celtic penannular cloak fastening while retaining a conventional rollover brooch fitting to the reverse. A wonderfully elaborate example of Miracle’s characteristically historicist jewellery.
