Substantial antique statement brooch featuring a densely set domed cluster of deep sapphire-blue faceted glass rhinestones in an aged gold tone setting. Large round stones form the main design, interspersed with smaller matching rhinestones, with each stone individually prong set to create the highly dimensional clustered surface.
The early C-clasp, long pin, individual stone settings and construction are consistent with interwar European costume jewellery, with particularly strong similarities to Czech/Czechoslovakian glass jewellery of the Art Deco period.
